A few nights ago in the Bay, a bunch of white manarchists tried to co-opt the struggles of trans people and people of color by blockading traffic, doing a banner drop, and flyering about the murder of Brandy Martell, a young trans woman from Oakland, and the imprisonment of CeCe McDonald. How much longer will these privileged white man black blocers try to co-opt our struggles? Don’t they understand that unless you’re a trans woman of color in prison that you can’t show solidarity for trans women of color in prison? Sometimes solidarity means stepping back and ignoring that trans women of color face violence in this society until someone more oppressed brings it up. Oakland Gender Rebels, work on your shit!
